We’re hiring a Housekeeper

About The Wigtown Ploughman

In March 2025, the Wigtown Community Inn Community Benefit Society formally reopened the building at 30 South Main Street after three years of closure to the public, with the help of a large asset grant awarded by South of Scotland Enterprise. The Wigtown Ploughman Ltd, the commercial company set up for pub, hotel and food-service trading, now employs 4 part-time bar staff and is run with the help of a 10-person volunteer Management Committee.

The Wigtown Ploughman is a community-owned building with over 440 members. The vision for it to be an inn and a Community Hub can only be achieved by working together as a cohesive unit consisting of both volunteers and paid staff. That’s where we need your help.
