As a community-owned pub, we love being a place where people come together for meetings, celebrations and events. We’re very happy to host gatherings of all kinds, as long as they’re booked in advance and confirmed with us so we can make sure everything runs smoothly for everyone.

The pub is a multi-use space serving many parts of the Wigtown community. Drop in on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 10am–2pm, when the Lounge operates as a volunteer-run community hub, warm space with a wood-burning stove, and social gathering point, with teas, coffees, and biscuits available by voluntary donation.
When The Lounge is not being used as a community hub or a dining room serving evening meals or Sunday roasts it is a bookable space for your private event or gathering at the rate of £15 per hour. There is a maximum seated capacity of 30 and the tables and chairs can be reconfigured for different types of events or meetings. There is also Wi-Fi available.
The Lounge has hosted a wide variety of events, including birthday celebrations, funeral teas, poetry readings, book launches, beer festivals, local history talks, chess clubs, and book clubs. Please note that for any event, big or small, booking is essential to ensure that we have suitable staff cover for your requirements and that there is no clash with another event. If you’d like to reserve a table for free in the public bar, please get in touch.
Catering for your event
Whatever your occasion, we’re more than happy to cater for it. We can provide buffet options to suit all budgets and dietary requirements. If you have specific needs, or would like us to cater to a particular theme, please get in touch with us to discuss your plans.
Our buffet prices typically range from £10–£20 per head, as we tailor each menu to your needs. We’re also able to provide drinks on arrival for your guests if you’d like.
